The Northern Ohio Chapter is sponsoring a membership challenge from June 2009 through the end of the year. The Chapter member who sponsors the most new members during that time period will receive a gift certificate worth $250. Only one prize will be awarded – in the event of a tie, a drawing will be held to determine the final winner. So, encourage your EHS colleagues to join, and make sure that they list you as their sponsor on their new membership application!
The Northern Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (NOC-ASSE) is again offering scholarships. One or more scholarships of up to $1,000 may be awarded at the discretion of the Chapter. Awarded funds will be deposited with the successful candidates’ institution on or about December 15, 2009, to be applied to your Winter/Spring 2010 tuition/book costs. You must meet the following four qualifications to be eligible:
1. Currently attend a two-year or four-year college/university in the NOC-ASSE service area, or have a primary residence within the NOC-ASSE service area (see below county list for NOC-ASSE service area).

3. Achieved at least a 2.5 grade point average in your attempted SH&E courses (formal withdrawal does not constitute an attempt). You may be asked to supply transcripts to confirm your grade point average.
4. Available to accept the award at one of NOC-ASSE's Spring 2010 meetings, date/time TBD.
If you qualify and are interested, please complete and sign the attached application form and return it to Herb Mausser with all required attachments at the address indicated.
The application deadline is to be determined.
Please contact Herb Mausser with any questions, 216-987-2236 or herbert.mausser@tri-c.edu. DO NOT CONTACT NOC-ASSE DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP - they will just direct you to me.
WE ENCOURAGE ALL ELIGIBLE STUDENTS TO APPLY. GOOD LUCK!
