Northern Ohio Chapter Scholarship
The Northern Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (NOC-ASSE) offers scholarships for college students pursuing a career in the Health, Safety & Environmental field, including EHST Program students at Cuyahoga Community College. Typically, one $500 scholarship or two $250 scholarships will be awarded, although additional awards may be made at the discretion of NOC-ASSE. Awarded funds will be deposited with the Business Office of the awardees’ college/university by December 15 of the award year, to be applied to the following Winter/Spring/Summer semester tuition/book costs.
You must meet the following four qualifications to be eligible:
-
Have a main/permanent address or attend a college/university in NOC-ASSE’s geographic area (Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Huron, Lake and Lorain counties).
-
Completed at least 3 HS&E-related courses (for example, EHST courses) through fall semester of your application year. NOTE: You may apply and be eligible even if you will not complete your 3rd course until December; just provide written documentation that you successfully completed the course(s) by December 15.
-
Achieved at least a 2.5 grade point average in your attempted HS&E-related courses (formal withdrawal does not constitute an attempt).
-
Available to accept the award at one of NOC-ASSE's Spring meetings, date/time TBD.
The application deadline is normally the second Friday in November. The application form and instructions will be posted on this Web site by the middle of September.
